26 Summits - La Robella

From Buttes, a chairlift takes you up to an altitude of 1223 metres. The route starts at La Robella and passes through the mountain meadows of Les Preisettes and Les Cernets Dessus. The landscape then changes into a narrow gorge and the path leads to the wild and romantic Poëta-Raisse gorge, which is only accessible via footbridges fixed above the watercourse. Hikers must be sure-footed and not prone to vertigo if they are to enjoy the gorges to the full.

On the way down to the gorge, there is a hut and picnic tables. The route takes in the magnificent Rousseau waterfall and the Fontaine à Louis. The hidden absinthe fountains are a reminder of the time when it was forbidden to drink this Val-de-Travers brandy.
