This pleasant walk, accessible to all, follows the cantonal road through a landscape shaped for centuries by the waters of the River Birse.

The Birse, which rises at Pierre-Pertuis and flows into the Rhine at Basel, forms major gorges upstream and downstream of Moutier. The gorges at Court, shaped by the waters of the Birs, can be explored on foot via footbridges, stairways and even a man-made tunnel. The walls, carved out of the Graitery, sometimes rise steeply, sometimes less steeply from the river. A walk in the Gorges de Court allows hikers to enjoy the cool shade provided by the walls.
