From Saint-Ursanne to Porrentruy, through Ajoie and its orchards

When you cross the medieval bridge of Saint-Ursanne you will be struck by the beauty of your surroundings. It comes as no surprise that the river Doubs makes its sole incursion into Switzerland here as it runs though Saint-Ursanne, endowing even more beauty to the village as it goes on its way.

The centre of the village can be reached by three fortified gates. Its treasures are therefore well protected - a collegiate church with a magnificent cloister, small colourful houses, crowded one against the other around attractive fountains, a medieval garden, four small but welcoming rustic hotels, a bakery in the heart of the village which sets the pace for the inhabitants’ lives and narrow streets repaved specifically to increase the pleasure of visitors to the village.

Saint-Ursanne truly deserves its name, the “pearl of the Jura”.

The tour now takes you across the Ajoie region and its orchards to the neighbouring town of Porrentruy.
