Montfaucon - La Ferrière route

"The red train takes us from Glovelier to the Franches Montagnes. The snow is sparkling on the pine trees and illuminates the landscape. We arrive at Pré-Petitjean where our cross-country skiing tour begins. Marie and I are the main actors of today’s outing. We are well equipped and ready to enjoy this sunny day. We are no heroes but enthusiastic amateurs. The trail is pleasant and the landscape breathtakingly beautiful. Our physical condition however compels us to slow down a bit. We pass Saignelégier and head on west, and then after 2 ½ hours we allow ourselves a well-deserved rest with a Fondue meal in Peu-Péquinot. We get back on our skis and glide easily down to the train station of Noirmont, from where the train takes us back to the starting point."
