La Casba was built around 1920 by a group of friends from Sainte-Croix. One of them, the famous Justin de la Casba, whose portrait always watches over the liars' table, opened the place to the public.
La Casba opens its doors all year round, summer and winter, inviting visitors to taste delicious Swiss dishes and enjoy a glass of "Meneguetz", a secret recipe well guarded by the residents of the Balcon du Jura.
The chalet is located in the middle of the mountains and cannot be reached by motorized vehicles. So put on your shoes or equip your skis and embark on an adventure to reach La Casba.
The chalet is open depending on the weather:
Winter: 16 December to 25 February, Wednesday to Sunday, 12am to 5pm and evenings by prior arrangement.
Summer 2024: opens on 1 May, weather permitting.
