After a first self-produced Album which received numerous reviews (The Wire, Bandcamp, Shindig, Rock&Folk, Les InrocksBlog) and which the artist defended on stage and throughout Europe more than a hundred times (Grauzone Festival, Les Ateliers Claus, A38, Le Sonic), Sophia Djebel Rose will return with her second Album, to be released early 2025, and for which she signs the production from A to Z (Indian harmonium, modular synth, guitars, vocals).

Austere and baroque, dark and luminous, raw and refined, Sophia Djebel Rose offers 9 unclassifiable titles with a magnetic aura. If they borrow from experimental rock its saturated riffs and its heady drones, the DNA of this opus is also to be found in the side of folk tradition from which the artist borrows its pastoral and committed themes, sometimes very dark.

Thus this title Blanche Biche, which is an eco-feminist anthem freely adapted by the artist from the medieval french-speaking repertoire, telling the story of a woman who transforms into a doe at nightfall and who ends up decapitated by her own brother who left on the hunt...

Definitely to be classified among the unclassifiable, it is with fervor and thoroughness that Sophia Djebel Rose lays the groundwork for a work which registers in the wake of sensitives female pioneers who exploded the stylistic boundaries.
