The Franches-Montagnes
At an altitude of 1,000 metres, the Franches-Montagnes form a plateau of unspoilt landscapes. Characterised by open pastures and pine forests, the region is a paradise for nature lovers.

Horse country
Berceau du cheval franches-montagnes – unique race originaire de Suisse - ce dernier y est roi. De nombreuses activités équestres sont proposées comme des balades accompagnées, des dégustations de fondue sur un char attelé ou encore des visites d'élevages.
At the cradle of the Franches-Montagnes horse – the only horse breed originating in Switzerland – the latter is king. A wide range of horse-riding activities are available, including guided horseback rides, fondue tastings on a horse-drawn wagon and visits to horse-breeding farms.
Preserved nature
The pond Etang de la Gruère is situated in the heart of the Franches-Montagnes, surrounded by a protected moorland. A footpath takes you around the lake, allowing you to relax and enjoy the pristine surroundings.
Outdoor activities
The region is ideal for outdoor enthusiasts. The Franches-Montagnes offer ideal conditions for all kinds of activities such as hiking, biking, horseback riding, outings on horse wagon, snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and dog sledding.
