This varied hike leads from Magglingen over the Twannberg down to Twann, featuring panoramic views, the striking Twannbach Gorge, and picturesque alleys.

This hike is a true classic in the Jura & Three-Lakes region. Starting in Magglingen, the trail leads over scenic heights to Twannberg before descending through the impressive Twannbach Gorge. The steep rock walls and rushing water create a spectacular natural experience. Once in Twann, visitors can wander through the picturesque alleys lined with historic winemakers' houses and inviting wine taverns. This tour reveals its full charm especially in autumn, when the vineyards glow in warm colors revealing their. unforgettable beauty.

    • The hiking path is closed in winter and will reopen at Easter.
    • How to get there: Funicular railway Biel Magglingen.
    • Return journey by train or boat.
    • Warning: the terrain of the gorge may be very slippery in wet weather.
    • There is a total ban on cycling in the gorge.
    • Each year maintenance work is undertaken to ensure the footpath remains through the gorge. The funding is partly provided by an entrance fee.
    • In Reto's Glas-Atelier (glass factory), visitors will enjoy discovering and observing the work of glassblowers.
    • Mr. Blaser offers trekking tours with lamas and donkeys through the Twannbach Gorge.
