Jura Crest Stay

Forming an arc between Zurich and Geneva, the Jura Crest Trail is the most famous hiking route in Switzerland! In the course of a three-stage tour, we invite you to discover the part of this route that links Chasseral, the Vue des Alpes and the Creux du Van. Along the way, you will enjoy breathtaking views of the Swiss Plateau, the Alps and the Three-Lakes Region.

Stage 1: Frinvillier - Chasseral
From Frinvillier, climb to the summit of Chasseral! Between forests and meadows, the way up is steady and pleasant. You will be rewarded with a sensational 360° view of the Jura, the Swiss Mittelland and the lakes of Biel, Neuchâtel and Murten!

Stage 2: Chasseral - La Vue des Alpes
The hike is spectacular: it leads over the Chasseral ridge, through farmhouses and pastures to the Vue des Alpes pass, halfway between Neuchâtel and La Chaux-de-Fonds. The Vue des Alpes is a popular excursion destination for the people of Neuchâtel and is not far from the watchmaking metropolis of La Chaux-de-Fonds. A visit is worthwhile!

Stage 3: La Vue des Alpes - Noiraigue
Passing the peaks of Tête de Ran and Mont Racine, the route continues to the Rochers des Tablettes, from where you have a breathtaking view of Lake Neuchâtel. Throughout the hike, you will see the Creux du Van getting closer and closer. A majestic rocky cirque, the Creux du Van is also the largest nature reserve in the canton of Neuchâtel.
