Located on the heights of Saint-Imier, the Mont-Soleil offers a breathtaking view of the Chasseral and many activities.
Taking the funicular from Saint-Imier leads to Mont-Soleil, a must for lovers of the great outdoors and those interested in renewable energy.
With its wooded pastures, its educational trail on renewable energy and its view of the Chasseral, Mont-Soleil is a natural site appreciated by all. The Sentier des Monts, which runs from Mont-Soleil to Mont-Crosin, offers games and information on renewable energy, fauna, flora, global warming, geology and weather. All along the trail, discoveries await the walkers: huge fields of solar panels, an astronomical observatory, wind turbines fascinating by their size and elegance, but also a panoramic view of the Alps and the Jura.
The Chasseral and its antenna appear at the edges of the paths that line the Mont-Soleil. With its flat summit, culminating at an altitude of 1'291 meters, the place offers trails accessible to everyone.
In addition to the Sentier des Monts, many activities are available at Mont-Soleil. Visitors can take part in guided tours of the solar power plant and wind turbines or visit the astronomical observatory, day or night, with observation of the sun and stars. In addition, the funicular offers various activities, such as segway tours, scooter tours or even a telebob in winter. Something to delight both young and old!
